2013 BMW HP4 Base

Intro
The 2013 BMW HP4 is the fourth offering from BMW’s High Performance line of motorcycles and is largely identical to the standard BMW S1000RR except for technological advancements that vault the HP4 into a very, very special class of high performance sportbike.
The standard S1000RR was launched in 2009 with a production run of 1000 units, the minimum number needed for BMW to compete in Superbike World Championship racing which uses motorcycles that are technically available for sale to the general public. BMW was out to prove that it could build motorcycles that are engineered to comparable standards as their sports cars and 2010’s S1000RR garnered the top spot in more than one comparative shootout. The pace has not waned, and the 2013 BMW HP4 shows that the company is investing heavily in research and development and again; this top-shelf sport bike threatens to sweep the awards.
With forged alloy wheels, an Akrapovic titanium exhaust, a lighter sprocket carrier and battery, and many, many carbon-fiber parts, the 439-pound HP4 is 15 pounds lighter than the standard S1000RR. Weight and parts aside, BMW’s selection of technological advances on the 2013 HP4 are the real story. The 2013 HP4 has traction control, wheelie control, launch control, anti-lock brakes and the first dynamically adaptive, auto-adjusting electronic suspension ever available on a production motorcycle: Dynamic Damping Control (DDC).
Dynamic Damping Control was adapted from electronic damping systems used on BMW’s high-end automobiles and adjusts the suspension for the rider with electromagnetic valves in the front fork and rear shock. These valves can open or close 100 times per second, producing damping which can deliver the optimum response, and thus keep the tires contact patch as large as possible, over any bump, big or small. The sensing is done via both a throttle-position sensor and a spring-travel sensor on the rear shock which indicate to the DDC control unit if the motorcycle is accelerating or braking, and the control unit continuously samples lean angle data from the traction control sensor to ascertain whether the motorcycle is entering or leaving a turn. In short, the 2013 BMW HP4 has been designed to know where it is and where it is going at any given time and set its suspension accordingly; then it does it again, 100 times per second.
Traction control has been available on previous versions of the S1000RR, but the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) on the 2013 HP4 is further improved. There are four traction control modes: Rain, Sport, Race, or Slick. The first three have one factory-selected traction control preset, the Slick mode has 15. Clicking through each of the 15 individual traction control settings in the Slick mode provides slightly more perceptible traction control for the rider who has a strong sense of the conditions and how he feels the bike should behave.
The 2013 BMW HP4’s Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and wheelie control almost seem like afterthoughts in the face of such engineering as DDC and DTC, but they add to the overall ride and help complete the electronics package. BMW has left no area of motorcycle dynamics unstudied and has delivered a solution for them all.
The 2013 HP4 engine specs are the same as the standard S1000RR, but BMW have given the HP4 more mid-range power and a smoother throttle response. With a claimed 193 horsepower at 13,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 83 ft-lbs. of torque at 9750 rpm, the HP4 provides more than enough power for the street, and certainly enough for serious track day riders, as well.
Ergonomics are pure sportbike, with tight angles between the seat, handlebars, and footpegs, a race-inspired seat, and a small windscreen. It is likely that few riders will notice any lack of comfort for the first few outings, however, as the assistive technology on the 2013 HP4 will be front and center in the rider’s experience.
New For 2013
  • Dynamic Damping Control (DDC) is the first dynamically adaptive, auto-adjusting electronic suspension ever available on a production motorcycle
  • Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) is a four-mode traction control system that is customizable to individual rider preference
  • Race ABS settings redesigned to be more aggressive and provide more controlled stopping power
  • Forged alloy wheels 5.3 pounds lighter than standard S1000RR wheels and wrapped with wider tires

Explained , seat height is the size ( in mm or inches ) from the lowest point of the motorcycle seat to the ground , with the motorcycle upright position . The following important points :

1 . What type of motorcycle affect seat height ? Notching the seat is very dependent on the model and type of motorcycle as usability . For example , the model cruiser should have a lower seat height than the other . This is because the location of the engine just above the biker , make a little seat is lowered position . Sportbike usually higher , because the pursuit of ground clarance to maneuver in the turn. While the model of off-road , adventure , or supermoto , higher due to bulldoze all-terrain functions .

But these types of motorcycles can not be deceived . For example, off-road model , it is definitely a slim seat . Despite high , tapered seat shape makes thighs can go down almost entirely to help the feet reach the ground . On the other hand , sportbike models usually have a saddle width , to accommodate the multi -cylinder engine . The wide seat makes the thighs restrained and makes it more difficult to reach the foot of the ground . The lesson is to choose the most comfortable possible .

3 . How to measure if the seat is too high ? Sometimes consideration of the model appear without the condition . There are people who do not care tiptoe when stopped at a red light , there is also the prestige . All depends on yourself. Comfort is a priority , and your own taste . If not able to bear a heavy burden when the motorcycle on tiptoe , should not be imposed . The weight should be balanced with the weight of your feet to reduce the possibility of collapse .

4 . You short , how to touch the ground more easily ? Motorists who are not too high to reach the ground is usually more preventive protective foot wear some accessories . Or, it could use shoes with thicker soles to help .

Alternatively, footrest maximize the steering deflect opposite to the side of the foot derived . For example , if you feel more comfortable left foot is lowered when stopped , dibelokan handlebars to the right and right foot little toe hold footrests . It really helps stability until you drove back .

If necessary , make a purchase accessory seat or seat variations that make a lower seating position that makes you more comfortable .

5 . How to trim the suspension ? Many bikers take this instant way without a second thought . The effect affects handling motorcycle , for example bulldoze the corner , the pressure shock absorbers are getting louder , and the suspension geometry will change . Apart from all these can be done , but you should avoid in this way and find another way to get a comfortable position tread .

super speed bikes

Motorcycle is a popular vehicle with two or three wheels. Today it’s possible to find various types of motorcycles for various needs like long road ride, urban traffic ride, racing and more. Today there are over 200 million active motorcycles in the world. It means 33 motorcycles for1000 people. While developing countries use and develop motorcycles, developed countries mostly prefer cars for transportation. China is the biggest motorcycle market with 54 million motorcycles and India has 37 million motorcycles. After first release of motorcycle in 1868, various types of vehicle were released. How many types of motorcycles are there?

There are 9 main motorcycle types in the world. They are Street motorcycles, Cruisers, Sport bikes, Touring motorcycles, Sport touring motorcycles, Standard motorcycles, Dual-sport and scooters-moped class.
Cruisers are one of the most popular motorcycle types in the world. Their most popular period was 1930 to 1960. Especially today’s big motorcycle brands Harley-Davidson, Excelsior-Henderson and Indian became popular on this period. Their most distinctive feature was their low-end torque engines. Cruisers are giving the driver a charismatic riding position with body is in the back and arms are reaching to direction lengthwise. After 60s, a cruiser type Choppers became popular and they became an icon of popular culture. Choppers’ main feature is their non-traditional style and power feel.
Sport bikes are the signs of men’s speed, acceleration and brake power on the vehicles. They are expensive than standard motors but it’s possible to take more comfort and fuel economy on them. Inline-four engines is the typical engine of sport bikes today. Sport bikes made the speeds over 160 km/h possible and comfortable for motorcycle drivers. Also safety features are very developed on this type.

Touring motorcycles are specifically designed for long distance riding. They have developed wind protection, large capacity fuel tanks and fuel economy. Comfort level on touring motorcycles is high and luggage capacity is larger than standard models. Weight of touring motorcycles is averagely 390–410 kg and with passengers and luggage it may raise to 590–640 kg.
Sport touring motorcycle became popular after 80s. They are a good combination of sport and touring motorcycles. Some motorcycle companies are listing sport touring motorcycles in touring lists and also it’s possible to see same motorcycles in some magazine’s sport lists. Today there’s a high development work on this comfortable and fast motorcycle type. The Honda ST1300 Pan-European is a good and popular example of Sport touring motorcycle class.

Dual-sport motorcycles are off road motorcycles that take also street ride permission. They are mainly light, signal and some more instrument added version of off road motorbikes. They are higher than standard motorcycles and have a strong suspension level so it’s very hard to ride them for a typical motorcycle driver. Supermoto motorcycles are added to this category in recent years. It’s a good combination street motorcycle and road racing- motocross style. Small wheels are also characteristic of this motorcycle type.
Scooter is an urban type motorcycle. Their power is 50–650 cc. Companies produce scooters with a cleaner body style and middle comfort. They have large luggage capacities and this made them popular for carriers and pizza couriers. New scooter models are coming with features like continuously variable transmissions and automatic clutches. Their fuel economy is on highest level especially in daily ride. They have smaller wheels than standard models.
Moped are a good and popular combination of motorcycle and bicycle. They have a small engine. In recent years, their engine is mostly electric motor. Their main feature is that power can be supplied from motor or rider may power up by pedal cycling.

BMW G 450RR Dakar

The 2011 Dakar Argentina-Chile rally motorcycle rules have changed and only allow 450cc single cylinders,

This BMW G450RRwill be ridden by top riders - Frenchman David Fretigne and Dutch Frans Verhoeven - and the Portuguese Pedro Bianchi Prata and Paulo Goncalves. The Dutchman in particular has led the development of the new bike rally and remember that Frétigné in 2009 was the first rider to get on the podium with a 450 cc bike.

speedbrain Rallye Kit: speedbrain rallye tank, rallye seat, rear fender, rallye open exhaust, carbon rallye guard with included water tank, rallye fairing incl. alloy stem, head light and wiring loom, front fender.

The tank holds 30 liters, replaces the original reservoir and rear frame, fitting seamlessly below the seat. BMW´s 450 X in this way becomes a highly capable rally bike and superb adventure machine, as its range is dramatically extended. The improved tank capacity is sufficient at the Dakar and similar events of the FIM Rallye World Championship. Because of the compact design, the tank accepts even the harshest landings. And because of the well-integrated design, the fuel doesn´t heat up. Rallye professionals know that this often causes problems when the tank is too close to the engine or radiator. Won´t happen with the speedbrain item. The system doesn´t need additional fuel pumps or hoses, either.

Another component of the kit is the fairing: a light-weight, robust and good-looking part with an alloy stem. The incorporated materials provide stability at race speed. The stem is laid out to fit head lights, instruments and bear the fairing. A low-rise front fender rounds out the package.

The mounting procedure for all parts is easy to conduct!

speedbrain rallye activities and the speedbrain rallye kit are a distinctive speedbrain initiative and development and not part of the BMW Factory Motorsport program.

Looks: Designed, engineered and manufactured to give complete pleasure to its rider in the lines of Bajaj CT 100 and Bajaj Wind models, Bajaj Platina offers all, an enticing look apart from being the lowest in the price segment of Bike’s cost pyramid. Bike lovers or not, one cannot simply resist but give a glance to the elegant silver color and dazzling chrome graphics of Bajaj Platina as it speeds past you on any road. Tuono V4R boasts power never before installed on a naked, obtained by reconfiguring the RSV4 Factory APRC SE four V cylinder.

The Tuono V4R inherits features from the Special Edition including the new exhaust system with bypass valve, which is two kilos lighter than the system used on the RSV4 R, and latest generation Ride by Wire throttle control. Differences from its race track sibling are closer spacing between the three first gear ratios a maximum torque of 110 Nm on tap 1000 rpm lower. The Tuono V4R maintains the family feeling with the WSBK double title champions tail fairing, saddle, tank and side panels, one of the best examples of made in Italy motorcycle design in the last decade for its formal beauty and functionality ratio. The racer, because that is what anyone who approaches a fireball like this one should be called, will be taming this beast from a riding position tailored to create a symbiotic relationship between the body and the bike, for unparalleled feedback through the three points of contact - the saddle, footpegs and handlebars.

Staying in the saddle and gripping the biconical handlebar, the rider comes into contact with the APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) joystick, the second generation electronic dynamics control package developed by Aprilia to get as close as possible to the physical limits of riding: State-of-the-art in bike dynamics performance controls, a patented system which makes the winning Superbike technology available to any biking enthusiast. All of this with absolutely simple and intuitive management which allows the Tuono V4R to be customised every time the rider gets on it, making it a truly "tailored" bike for each rider, the desired performance and the riding conditions.

APRC is based on an automotive inertia sensor platform, with two gyrometers and two accelerometers allowing the ECU to determine the dynamic state of the motorcycle and control engine torque accordingly to help the rider exploit the full performance potential of the bike in all conditions.

The APRC package includes ATC traction control (Aprilia Traction Control), with eight selectable levels, which controls sliding when accelerating out of a curve in relation to bank angle and throttle aperture, AWC (Aprilia Wheelie Control), which helps the rider control extreme wheelying by gradually bringing the front wheel back to the ground, and AQS (Aprilia Quick Shift), which allows instantaneous upshifts without closing the throttle or using the clutch. Completing the suite of four functions is the most exhilarating of all: ALC (Aprilia Launch Control). Simultaneously pressing both buttons on the joystick on the left hand handlebar arms the system, as confirmed by the specific message on the display. From this moment on, all 162 horsepower of the beast from Noale are ready to slingshot the Tuono V4R like a missile as soon as the rider releases the clutch, unleashing the astonishing power onto the tarmac through every available square millimetre of the 190/50 rear tyre.

For every day street riding and for those who are not yet accustomed to the miracles of the vehicles dynamics software, Tuono V4R offers great satisfaction from a biking hardware point of view.

In fact, the extraordinary new Aprilia naked is equipped with the best components available on the market: Brembo brake system with radial callipers and 320 mm floating discs at the front (220 mm at the rear), aluminium wheels with an all-new design weighing 2 Kg less than those on the RSV4R, Sachs upside down front fork with 43 mm stanchions coated with titanium nitride for reduced friction, and Sachs shock absorber with separate piggy back nitrogen canister featuring adjustable spring preload, compression and rebound damping and length, to modify the setup of the bike to suit different riding styles or for two-up use.
